Psalm 119 v. 129-136 Redux

Your statutes are wonderful;
    therefore I obey them.
130 The unfolding of your words gives light;
    it gives understanding to the simple.
131 I open my mouth and pant,
    longing for your commands.
132 Turn to me and have mercy on me,
    as you always do to those who love your name.
133 Direct my footsteps according to your word;
    let no sin rule over me.
134 Redeem me from human oppression,
    that I may obey your precepts.
135 Make your face shine on your servant
    and teach me your decrees.
136 Streams of tears flow from my eyes,
    for your law is not obeyed.

God, I am longing for a word from your lips,

For a whisper into my night-time.

I long to breathe Your peace again.

I am longing to be held by You,

For your soothing, gentle touch.

I long for your tenderness to surround me.

I surrender my will to Yours.

Take my feet, determine my steps,

To walk in Your way.

In the midst of my sin and doubt,

Come to me God,

And my failing will not overwhelm me.

Let the shadows be outcast,

As Your light reaches into my gloom,

And brings death to my darkness.

Let me not be afraid,

To cry tears at my Love for You,

At Your steadfast hold on my Life.
