Quiet time earlier this week. In bed at 1.23am having gotten in late and spent an inordinate amount of time going round the house, completing all those 2-minute odd-jobs that end up taking longer than that, because technology knows when you’re in a hurry or dead-on-your-feet.

Read the following under that day’s date:

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthans  6 v 19-20 (NIV)

And the encouragement that we should not push our bodies too hard; that we should look after them by eating and sleeping properly, because our body is a gift from God.

Uh-huh. That’s me told. Love those moments of utter appropriateness in what I read from the Bible.
